Can I get home visits or urgent care if I live outside the Practice Boundary area?

Yes. The Practice Boundary area of the eMed GP at Hand practice is south of Talgarth Road and Cromwell Road in Fulham, and north of the River Thames.

You may on occasion develop an urgent illness which requires a face to face appointment, and not be able to visit one of our GP clinic locations. In this circumstance, we may ask you to call 111 who will direct you to the most appropriate local service which may be a GP practice near to where you live, the local walk-in or urgent care centre, A&E or minor injuries unit. This local service will then decide if you can attend for an urgent face to face appointment with a healthcare professional or if a home visit is needed which will be based on your individual circumstances. If this is in the out-of-hours period when GP surgeries are normally closed – between 6:30pm and 8:00am weekdays and during weekends – NHS 111 will direct you to the local out-of-hours provider.

The NHS policy for out of area patients states that the practice is under no obligation and cannot be compelled to provide home visits. Nonetheless, we will provide GP visits to patients where our doctors deem this to be an appropriate way to care for you.

All registered patients of GP at Hand are able to book a video consultation with a GP wherever they are.
